DORA - Sunrise/Sunset Review Process

November 22, 2016 Tammy Schaffer

Rebecca Laurie, Director of Communications for Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies joins us to talk about the Sunrise/Sunset Review process and what that means for business in the state. Her guests are Bruce Harrelson and Brian Tobias of the Colorado Office of Policy, Research & Regulatory Reform.

They'll discuss how a Sunrise review explores a need to regulate a currently unregulated profession or occupation. A Sunset review allows the Colorado General Assembly to set specific dates that a particular agency, board, or function of government will terminate unless the legislature passes new legislation to continue. So, the “sun sets” on that part of government if it is not reauthorized.
COPRRR staff conduct a comprehensive study and then make recommendations to the Colorado General Assembly.

Learn more by listening LIVE today at 4:00 on Denver's Money Talk 1690 AM. Go to www.DORA.colorado.gov/opr to sign up for reglulatory notices or submit a cost benefit analysis request.
