Understanding Amendment 69 and ColoradoCare

August 22, 2016 Tammy Schaffer

The Colorado State Health Care System Initiative, also known as Amendment 69, will be on the November 8, 2016, ballot in Colorado as an initiated constitutional amendment.[1]

Amendment 69 proposes a single payer health care system for Colorado, which is being referred to as ColoradoCare. The Colorado Business Roundtable strives to provide information to voters on all ballot issues, particularly those that impact businesses and our state economy.

Sean Duffy, Spokesman for NO on 69 joins us to discuss concerns about upcoming Amendment 69- which would amend the states constitution to allow a form of a single payer health care in our state. He'll explain why he feels the amendment would be costly, unproven, and risky and additionally, would double the size of our state budget.

We'll also hear from Rebecca Kersting, PHR and Co-Director of Human Resources for the CAP Family of Companies, weighing in how Amendment 69 may impact employers.
