Colorado Space Business Roundtable - Space Weather

July 14, 2016 Tammy Schaffer

The Colorado Space Business Roundtable works with Aerospace industries throughout the state, along with the top aerospace business leaders to promote space exploration from Colorado.

Edgar Johansson, President of the Colorado Space Business Roundtable will lead discussions with two leaders on Space Weather.

Colorado Congressman Ed Perlmutter is a member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, and a sponsor of a bipartisan bill which addresses the threat that space weather poses to our modern-day infrastructure. The bill would assign duties to government agencies, such as giving NOAA  and the Defense Department primary responsibility for operational space weather forecasting.

Congressman Perlmutter also supports a detailed plan for space exploration to Mars by 2033.

We will also talk with Dr. Dan Baker, Director of LASP at the University of Colorado about Space Weather, particularly concerns that space weather events would affect today's GPS systems, aviation technology and other instruments we now rely upon.

Listen LIVE today at 4:00 to Connect & Collaborate on Denver's Money Talk 1690 AM.
