Brave Leader Kent Thiry and Pro-Business Colorado with Walker Manufacturing

May 30, 2015 Tammy Schaffer

Our Brave Leader series continues, with a profile of Kent Thiry, CEO and co-chair of DaVita Health Partners. Thiry has served as chief executive officer since 1999, and has served on the board since November 2012.

He shares with us, his best business advice, "Begin with the end in mind."
You'll see, in our interview, that he puts that theory into practice, and that it serves him well.

Tune in for our Brave Leaders feature right after our Pro-Business Colorado interview with Bob Walker, President of Walker Manufacturing. With our co-host Dave Tabor from the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry, we learn how Walker carries on the family owned commercial lawn mower manufacturing business.

In tough economic times, when manufacturing was down, Walker sent their employees out to the Fort Collins community to work on community service projects. Such focus on making employees feel needed, and the community worthwhile is just an example of Walker Manufacturing's principals, Opportunity Abounds, an acronym for the 18 principals their business subscribes to.
